What we turn down

Things We Do Not Do

  • Binding mounting or release settings. That needs a calibrated test bench, and we send you to a shop that has one.
  • Boot fitting of any kind. A different trade, done well by other people.
  • Skis with a cracked core, delamination over 10 cm or a snapped edge over 15 cm. We will tell you plainly that they are finished.
  • Grip wax or klister for cross-country skis. We do glide wax only.
  • Fluorinated waxes. We stopped using them and we are not starting again.
  • Rental fleets or shop contracts. More than ten pairs at once in season is more than two hands can do properly.
  • Sunday walk-ins. However politely asked.

The damage thresholds are explained on the repairs page.

Since 2012

A Former Bicycle Storeroom

Vreni opened Wexesto in the winter of 2012 in a former bicycle storeroom, with a second-hand stone grinder and the waxing iron from her own kit. Skiers found it by the hand-painted sign over the door, or by asking on the chairlift who had sharpened someone's edges. The sign is still there; this site went up beside it in the summer of 2026.
